About the Professionals

Dianna C. Russo, CPA, Managing Principal

Dianna is known for her technical experience and intuitive abilities in shifting a client’s balance from reducing trouble areas in exchange for measurable results.

Dianna’s position as a leader in the community is well-known, particularly to small businesses and non profit organizations. Her passion for supporting clients and assisting them in running their operations efficiently allows them to focus on day-to-day operations and future growth.

Her expertise in providing services to non-profit organizations has allowed her to become a nationwide speaker and educator in this area. Speaking for organizations such as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Non-Profit Services Association has allowed her to share her expertise. She is also an instructor for the UNLV/United Way Non-Profit Management Certification Program.

Dianna graduated from the University of Maryland in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. She has received the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Accountant Advocate of the Year Award for the State of Nevada for her work with small businesses and non-profits. She has also received the Rising Stars Award from In Business Las Vegas. Dianna holds a CPA license in Nevada and California.

Katie Hampton, CPA, Principal

Katie is known for her proactive approach to leading a client in first developing their goals and then constructing the plan to achieve them. In fact, the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce honored her in 2005 with the Customer Service Excellence Award for her support of clients in developing their business.

As a Principal with Houldsworth, Russo & Company Katie serves as a business advisor to the firm’s clients by providing non-profit tax management, as well as performing both profit and non-profit audits and tax returns. Katie regularly takes the lead on projects that involve the financial management of political activities and unrelated business income tax.

Katie optimizes her experience and knowledge working with small to medium sized businesses to provide clients with an in-depth understanding of their accounting functions. Katie is an active member in several community service organizations, and brings her leadership skills and knowledge of business to all the organizations she serves. Katie received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1981 and was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1984.

Karen L. Durkin, MBA, PCC, Principal

Karen understands that while a client may understand what their individual business challenges are, they still need assistance is cutting through the confusion to focus on finding creative solutions for achieving results and developing growth. She serves clients through providing services in profit enhancement, executive coaching, strategic planning, and meeting and retreat facilitation.

Karen is a Principal for Houldsworth, Russo & Company, and specializes in providing consulting services for businesses and organizations that seek to achieve the maximum potential of their resources. Through working with leaders and employees to address goals Karen assists clients in proactively building opportunities. She helps clients set goals while identifying potential roadblocks to success and how to get around them. Her passion is facilitating the development of creative teambuilding solutions that open up pathways for companies and individuals to grow their businesses.

Karen received a Bachelors of Business Administration at the University of North Texas and earned her Masters of Business Administration at the University of Louisiana. Her 25 years of experience in coaching and training with a variety of corporations such as ExxonMobil, AT&T, Intel and NDC Health brings hands on experience to clients. She is vastly equipped to understand the complex needs of individuals and organizations as well as small privately held businesses. As a top rated facilitator, Karen has earned a reputation as a dynamic motivator on the national speakers' circuit.
